The Kootenay Country Store Cooperative recently announced to its membership that it will not be paying out patronage returns this year in an effort to save money for the store’s upcoming move into the building that now houses Extra Foods.
Kootenay Co-Op manager, Deirdrie Lang said the store has grown to the point where it needs to expand into a bigger space, and the Extra Foods building at the opposite end of Baker Street has long been seen as a great location.
